Chiropractic Software Reviews

Future Health eConnect
Future Health has recently launched a new product called eConnect. According to their website, eConnect contains all the basics required for successful EHR implementation and practice management. Their selling point is that their 'base' software is offered at no cost to the user. So what's the catch? That's what we wanted to find out.

As previously stated, they actually do offer their software at no cost, but this applies only to their 'base' software - a barebones, stripped down version of their complete practice management system. If you want a comparable practice management system to what competitors are offering, you will need to purchase several of the add-on applications they offer for an additional fee. In our opinion, their free 'base' software is a way to 'bait' new users, who will ultimately need to purchase several of these add-ons if they want, at the very least, a practice management system that is both efficient and cost effective.

Future Health actually recommends the purchase of at least two of these add-ons which will run you about $590.00. If you want their full scale practice management system complete with all add-ons, it will run you about $6,000.00. In addition to having to buy these add-on modules, users are also required to pay for data storage which will run you about $300.00 per year for 2 gigabytes of data. As your practice grows, so to will your data storage needs. Future Health offers additional data storage for about $95.00 per year per gigabyte. We feel these data storage fees are excessive as their are many online companies offering secure data management with encryption for as little as $60.00 per year for up to 5 gigabytes. The same amount of data storage from Future Health would run you a whopping $685.00 per year! Data storage fees are an obvious source of revenue for this company and must be considered prior to electing to implement a practice management system like eConnect.

At the very least, with the purchase of the two recommended add-ons, your initial cost would be about $890.00 for the first year, with an ongoing charge of at least $300.00 per year for data storage.  If you're seeking to qualify for the $44,000 government incentive, and want Future Health's assistance, there is an EHR Certification application you will need to purchase for an additional $2,495.00. In addition to our review, Future Health has received some very poor and concerning reviews from their own clients which have been posted to the Capterra software directory. RAPID EMR
According to their corporate website, RAPID EMR is a leading provider of tactical back-office technology solutions (whatever that means). RAPID EMR is a division of ACOM solutions which provides software solutions to the healthcare, financial and insurance industries as well as various government agencies. The RAPID EMR system produces a variety of chiropractic reports including initial exams, daily notes, SOAP notes, follow-up exams, and final exams using a intuitive and interactive point and click desktop interface. Our testers appreciated and enjoyed both the layout and tabbed navigation featured in this software system. Reports generated by the RAPID EMR system can be viewed and edited using Microsoft Word. On the downside, this system is very costly - running in excess of $4,000.00 which does not include a support plan. The support plan for the complete system runs about $1,500.00 per year. They also state that their chiropractic office software has been optimized for the Tablet PC which will run you an additional $2,000.00. If you have an unlimited budget and a thirst for portability, it might be worth checking out, otherwise it may be best to go with one of the other less expensive chiropractic reporting systems such as Report Master. Also keep in mind that ACOM does not specialize in chiropractic office software, and as a result, may not be in tune with the needs of the profession as much as software companies who are strictly chiropractic in nature. like many other companies mentioned. To learn more about ACOM's software solutions for chiropractic offices, you can visit them on the web.

EON Systems
EON Systems offers practice management solutions for chiropractors and physical therapists. Their chiropractic software consists of an appointment scheduler, billing module and report generator. When we contacted the company to inquire about their product, we were initially told the complete system retails for approximately $5,880.00 plus $120 per month for support and updates. When we seemed disinterested in purchasing their software and were about to end the call, the sales representative known as "Bambi" then told us about a special they have for doctors with less than 300 patients. The "special" price was around $4,600 not including support. When we questioned Bambi as to why she didn't explain the "special" price when we first contacted her, she stated that she forgot about it. In our opinion, this system is overpriced for the features it offers. EON claims on their website that they have invested more than $1,000,000 into the development of their chiropractic office software. It appears as if this cost is being passed on to the client. You can learn more about EON software on their corporate website.

PracticeStudio.NET
PracticeStudio.NET is a complete practice management software solution offered by MicroFour Inc. The system is built using the .NET platform which offers many benefits over systems built on older and outdated technologies. PracticeStudio.NET offers three options for users. These include a front office module that features scheduling and billing capabilities, an electronic medical records (EMR) solution for document management and reporting, or a combination of the two for a complete office management solution. The front office solution will run you about $4,995 - a bit pricey compared to other scheduling and billing systems. The complete scheduling, billing and EMR system runs about $8,100. Support is offered on a "per-call" basis and an annual plan that includes regular software updates is available for $795.00. MicroFour offers a free online demo of the software. If you are looking for a full-featured practice management solution for your office that includes the latest technology, and price is not a concern, PracticeStudio.NET might be worth checking out.
